glennsacks.com | The Mysterious Decline of Men on College Campuses In the bad old days, women were discouraged from intellectual pursuits. Now the tables have turned, and men are discouraged from intellectual pursuits. We need a few good male "bluestockings".

The Modern Methods of Jane-ism:
Jane by Ben Folds Five
Jane be Jane
You're better that way
Not when you're trying
Imitating something you think you saw
Jane be Jane
And if sometimes that might
Drive them away
Let them stay there
You don't need them anyway
You're worried there might not be
Anything at all inside
But that you're worried
Should tell you that's not right
Don't try to see yourself
The way that others do
It's no use
You're worried there might not be
Anything at all inside
But that you're worried
Should tell you that's not right
You've had it harder than anyone could know
So hard to let it go
But it's your life
And you can decorate it
As you like
Beneath the paint and armour
In your eyes the truth still shines
Jane be Jane

A duck walks into a bar and asks, "Got any grapes?"
The bartender, confused, tells the duck that no, his bar doesn't serve grapes. The duck thanks him and leaves.
The next day, the duck returns and says, "Got any grapes?"
Again, the bartender tells him that, no, the bar does not serve grapes, has never served grapes, and, furthermore, will never serve grapes. The duck, a little ruffled, thanks him and leaves.
The next day, the duck returns, but before he can say anything, the bartender begins to yell: ''Listen, duck! This is a bar! We do not serve grapes! If you ever ask for grapes again, I will nail your stupid duck beak to the bar!''
The duck is silent for a moment, and then asks, ''Got any nails?''
Confused, the bartender says no.
''Good!'' says the duck. ''Got any grapes?''

Moving Beyond Religion: "When you see the problems which organized religion has caused- 'holy' wars, religious extremism, bigotry against women and gays, intolerance of other religious traditions- you realize that religion is often motivated by politics rather than by love, that it is driven by fear and prejudice instead of a true understanding of the nature of God."

Numbered exits in CA - www.ezboard.com:
I read in the newspaper they plan to number the freeway exits in California. The project is due to be completed in three years, so we can expect to see the first signs around 2015.

Often the jocks have their own sort of hell, called Math, Biology, French, English, and the other classes that ARENT PE.
The difference is if you blow a test in Math, Biology, etc., it's not likely there will be 5 or 6 creeps use that as an excuse to make your life hell. That IS likely to happen in PE, and it isn't just PE. The creeps go after you outside of PE any chance they get."

I remember in the early days of DOS, hearing some people took "illegal operation" and "bad command or file name" very personally.

It's time to take a look at this article again. It doesn't mention PE specifically, but it does cover the territory.

Constructive criticism is one thing, abuse is quite another. Being called names, physically attacked (grabbed) and ridiculed for not being athletic is inexcusable. There is a name for this kind of behavior. It's called bullying. Kids don't know how to deal with problems because adults don't teach them. "Coddling" has nothing to do with it. There are ways to teach exercise and cooperation without resorting to or supporting bullying.

Arguments against PE.
One PE class can ruin your entire day.
Help fight child abuse, abolish mandatory PE.
Getting made fun of is NOT a complete education.
